RE/MAX Crossroads opens 2nd iRealty office in North Toronto

February 24, 2010

Mississauga, ON (March 1, 2010) -- A strong condominium market has prompted RE/MAX Crossroads, one of the largest RE/MAX offices in North America, to open a second iRealty location in North Toronto.

“In today’s environment, technically the office is wherever the realtor is,” says Barney Johnson, Broker of Record, RE/MAX Crossroads, located at 1055 McNicoll Ave. “Ever-evolving technology allows realtors to conduct business from just about anywhere – their client’s home, a coffee shop, an airport, or even a beach. It’s only a matter of time before consumers recognize the value of that mobility and the environmental awareness that comes with a virtual office.”

Johnson is committed to reducing the existing carbon footprint. By going paperless, for example, RE/MAX Crossroads is slowly changing the traditional real estate transaction. On average, a paperless transaction saves about 100 pieces of paper. Many of his iAgents have Tablet computers that allow contracts to be signed directly on screens. Gone are the days of endless filing cabinets full of contracts and misplaced documents.

RE/MAX Crossroads, one of the original Canadian RE/MAX offices, opened its doors for business in 1980. They’ve received many awards for performance over the years, including the “Highest Growth Award” presented by RE/MAX International for a 22 per cent increase in production in 2009. Much of its success can be attributed to Johnson, whose sound management skills and prudent investment strategies have allowed him to grow RE/MAX Crossroads to the close to 200 agents currently working at the McNicoll office. The new 1,000 sq. ft. facility, located on Yonge St. between Finch Ave. and Steeles Ave., will be home to another 100 real estate professionals.

“Under the guidance and direction of Barney Johnson, the second RE/MAX Crossroads office will undoubtedly become an instant success,” says Michael Polzler, Executive Vice President, RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada. “Johnson’s vision for the future of real estate, combined with his commitment to the environment, has set the RE/MAX Crossroads franchise apart as an industry innovator.”

The new opening is scheduled for March 1st at xx p.m. Invited guests include??? Media is welcome to attend.
