RECO Changes Its Mandatory Continuing Education Program Requirements

March 12, 2013 - Updated: March 18, 2013

RE/MAX CROSSROADS RULES & REGULATIONS BULLETIN:

Effective August 1, 2013, RECO will introduce a new online-based mandatory continuing education program to replace the current 24-credit (per registration cycle) continuing education program.

This new online program focuses on the core issues of the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002, namely regulatory requirements, consumer protection and current industry issues.

The new Continuing Education program, per 2-year registration cycle, will consist of

  •   1 RECO Update Course (Residential / Commercial versions), consisting of 4 modules delivered by RECO.  [ This replaces the current 6-credit RECO mandatory residential update course delivered by OREA, which ends July 31, 2013.]
  •  Plus 2 self-selected elective modules with multiple ‘streams’ (residential, commercial, management, etc.)  [This replaces the current 18 self-selected credits.]

If you renew your registration between August 1, 2013 and July 31, 2015, you can choose to meet your continuing education requirement either: 1) under the new program; or 2) under the current program.

After July 31, 2015, you can only meet your continuing education requirement under the new program.

RE/MAX Crossroads Realty Inc. will continue to provide our office agents with further personal development training, beyond the new RECO education program focuses.  This will ensure our agents meet the changing market needs with the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities to stay competitive and “Above The Crowd®” in the marketplace.
